WITH TORNADO WARNINGS AND SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNINGS IN THE AREA AT6PM THURSDAY NIGHT--- THE TRACK PREPARATION CONTINUED AND RACE FANS AND DRIVERS TURNED OUT FOR THE REGULAR THURSDAY NIGHT RACING AT THE NORMAN COUNTY RACEWAY IN ADA, MINNESOTA.... THIS WEEKS RACE WAS IN CONJUNCTION WITH 110TH ANNUAL NORMAN COUNTY FAIR.... FORTUNATELY,,, NO SEVERE WEATHER STRUCK THE IMMEDIATE AREA,, THE SKIES CLEARED, TEMPERATURES COOLED AND 75 CARS RACED!!! FANS AGAIN WERE TREATED TO WATCHING THE TOP DRIVERS,,, IN CHECKING THE WISSOTA NATIONAL POINTS STANDINGS,,, DRIVERS LIKE LAST YEARS CHAMP AND CURRENT LEADER RYAN AHO FROM CHISHOLM WAS BACK ON THE TRACK,,, HE DIDN'T DISAPPOINT THE CROWD DRIVING TO A FEATURES WIN IN THE SUPERSTOCKS... DRIVERS LIKE BLATE JETVIG OF HAWLEY AND CHAD OHNSTAD OF HARWOOD WHO ARE SECOND AND THIRD IN THE NATIONAL POINT STANDINGS AND LEADER OF THE MIDWEST MODS JUSTIN JONES WERE AGAIN AT THE NORMAN COUNTY RACEWAY... THE TOP 11 DRIVERS IN NATIONAL POINTS FOR THE MOD FOURS ARE ALL REGULARS AT THE NORMAN COUNTY RACEWAY,,, CURRENT POINTS LEADER MICHAEL GRESETH IS RUNNING AWESOME WITH HIS NEW CAR THIS YEAR,,, THE #17 CAR AND DRIVER FROM HARWOOD NORTH DAKOTA WON THE MOD FOUR FEATURE FOR THE SIXTH CONSECUTIVE WEEK... RICK JACOBSON WON THE MODIFIEDS FEATURE FOR THE SECOND STRAIGHT WEEK. TRAVIS SAUER WON THE MIDWEST MODIFIEDS FOR THE THIRD STRAIGHT WEEK.

WISSOTA STREETS, HEAT ONE: JASON GRIMES CAME INTO THE WEEK SECOND IN NORMAN COUNTY RACEWAY POINTS AND SIXTH NATIONALLY,,, GRIMES FROM VALLEY CITY NORTH DAKOTA WON THE HEAT AND LATER DROVE ON THE BOTTOM OF THE TRACK AND EVENTUALLY OVER TOOK JOE POTTER FOR THE FEATURE WIN.

IN THE MIDWEST MODIFIEDS, DAN NESS OF ERSKINE HAD THE 35X HOOKED UP TO WIN THE FIRST HEAT,, BLAKE BORGEN OF PERLEY WAS SECOND AND RICH PAVLICEK THIRD.

HEAT TWO: FIRST RON SAUER, SECOND CRAIG ENGELSTAD, THIRD JUSTIN JONES.
IN THE FEATURE,, DAN NESS LED THE FIRST EIGHT LAPS AND THEN AFTER A YELLOW CAUTION RE-START, LOST THE LEAD TO TRAVIS SAUER... NESS WAS IN HIS CAR FOR JUST THE EIGHT TIME THIS SEASON, SAYING AFTER THE RACE---"HE WAS HAPPY, JUST THAT TRAVIS HAD A LOT MORE EXPERIENCE AND HE WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO RACING EACH WEEK AT THE NORMAN COUNTY RACEWAY"

IN THE PURESTOCKS, HEAT ONE: FIRST BILL OXTON, SECOND PAUL OLSON, THIRD JIM OLSON
HEAT TWO: FIRST DEAN LUNDON, SECOND JEROME DOLL, THIRD ANDY KAPPES
HEAT THREE: FIRST MIKE PETERSON, SECOND RANDY GARDNER, THIRD RANDY JAWASKI

IN THE FEATURE: SEVERAL CAUTIONS AND KEN CRANE LED OVER HALF THE RACE UNTIL HE LOST CONTROL TO CAUSE THE LAST YELLOW BETWEEN TURN THREE AND FOUR.... AFTER THE RE-START IT WENT GREE, WHITE, CHECKERED FLAG AND DEAN LUNDON OF MAHNOMEN TOOK ADVANTAGE TO WIN HIS FIRST FEATURE OF THE SEASON.

IN THE SUPERSTOCKS, DEFENDING NATIONAL CHAMPION AND CURRENT POINTS LEADER, RYAN AHO OF CHISHOLM DELIGHTED SOME OF HIS FANS WHO ALSO DROVE FROM THE IRON RANGE TO WATCH AHO HOLD OFF KYLE PETERLIN TO WIN THE FEATURE. THOSE TWO FINISHED FIRST AND SECOND IN THE HEAT ALSO.

THE MODIFIEDS FEATURE SAW TWO MAJOR CRASHES BEFORE ONE LAP WAS COMPLETED,,, BOTH PILE-UPS WERE BETWEEN TURNS ONE AND TWO... THE FIRST WAS A SEVEN CAR COLLISION ON THE GREEN START FLAG,,,, AFTER THE CARS WERE LINED-UP,, A THREE CAR WRECK OCCURED.... ALL DRIVERS WERE OK,,, CHAD OHNSTAD LED THE FIRST TEN LAPS AND AFTER ANOTHER YELLOW FLAG AND RE-START,, RICK JACOBSON OVER TOOK OHNSTAD AND HELD OFF THE CHALLENGE FROM MARK TRAUTNER... TRAUTNER WAS ONE OF THE CARS INVOLVED IN THE EARLY PILE-UPS AND CAME FROM THE BACK OF THE PACK TO RACE FOR SECOND IN THE FEATURE..
