THE NORMAN COUNTY RACEWAY CONTINUES TO GROW WITH EXCITEMENT AND FAN SUPPORT... AT THE THURSDAY NIGHT RACES,, A NEW CAR COUNT RECORD WAS ESTABLISHED WITH 98 CARS.. A GREAT CROWD OF OVER 700 PEOPLE WATCHED SOME OF THE FASTEST AND HARDEST RACING OF THE SEASON.
IN THE MOD FOURS,,, ONE THING HAS NOT CHANGED FOR FIVE WEEKS,,, MIKE GRESETH WINS THE FEATURE!!! GRESETH FINISHED SECOND IN THE HEAT TO DENNIS CHARLES... IN THE FEATURE, GRESETH STARTED IN THE MIDDLE AND ON THE FIRST LAP WORKED HIS WAY TO THE LEAD AND AFTER THE RE-STARTS NO ONE COULD CLOSE IN ON THE #17 CAR.

RESULTS: MOD FOURS, HEAT ONE: FIRST DENNIS CHARLES, SECOND MICHAEL GRESETH, THIRD ERIC MONSON
HEAT TWO: FIRST MATT GRESETH, SECOND BILL LEAHY, THIRD SCOTT SAILER.

IN THE STREET STOCKS,, LUKE NELSON GOT BACK TO THE FEATURE WINNERS CIRCLE AFTER A TWO WEEK ABSCENSE.. NELSON DROVE THE 19N TO THE FRONT OF THE PACK AND HELD OFF THE CHARGE FROM LAST WEEKS WINNER, JASON GRIMES.

STREETS RESULTS: HEAT ONE: FIRST KEVIN VERALRUD, SECOND LEVI BABCOCK, THIRD JOE POTTER.
HEAT TWO: FIRST ROYCE JAWASKI, SECOND JASON GRIMES, THIRD LUKE NELSON.

STREET FEATURE: FIRST LUKE NELSON, SECOND JASON GRIMES, THIRD JAYSON CORELL, FOURTH ROYCE JAWASKI, FIFTH LEVI BABCOCK.


IN THE MIDWEST MODIFIEDS.. RON SAUER LED THE FEATURE FOR THE FIRST HALF OF THE RACE,, AT THE MIDWAY FLAGS, TRAVIS SAUER TOOK THE LEAD AND RACED WITH THE LEAD AND HIS DAD CHASING BEHIND. TRAVIS SAUER ALSO WON THE FEATURE LAST WEEK AT THE NORMAN COUNTY RACEWAY. THE NINETEEN MIDWEST MODIFIEDS ARE THE MOST AT THE TRACK THIS SEASON FOR ONE NIGHT OF RACING. THE MIDWEST MODIFIEDS FEATURED SEVERAL CRASHES THROUGH THE NIGHT IN THE HEATS AND IN THE FEATURE.

RESULTS: HEAT ONE: FIRST RON SAUER, SECOND GARY SONSTELIE, THIRD BLAKE BORGEN.
HEAT TWO: FIRST JUSTIN JONES, SECOND DAN NESS, THIRD DARIN BRANDT
HEAT THREE: FIRST TRAVIS SAUER, SECOND CRAIG ENGELSTAD, THIRD DENNIS SWANSON.

FEATURE RESULTS: FIRST RRAVIS SAUER, SECOND RON SAUER, THIRD DAN NESS, FOURTH CRAIG ENGELSTAD, FIFTH JUSTIN JONES.

21 PURESTOCKS CAME TO RACE THURSDAY NIGHT,,, KEN CRANE DROVE HIS #26 TO THE FEATURE WIN FOR THE FIRST TIME THIS SEASON. CRANE IS SECOND IN THE POINTS STANDING AND THURSDAY NIGHT CRANE WON HIS HEAT AND THEN RACED OUT FRONT DURING THE ENTIRE FEATURE.
RESULTS HEAT ONE: FIRST KEN CRANE, SECOND PAUL OLSON, THIRD JAMEY BRANDON.
HEAT TWO: FIRST RANDY JAWASKI, SECOND DEAN LUNDON, THIRD JEROME DOLL.
HEAT THREE: FIRST JUSTIN OLSON, SECOND MIKE PETERSON, THIRD JON DURAY.

FEATURE RESULTS: FIRST KEN CRANE, SECOND PAUL OLSON, THIRD BILL OXTON, FOURTH JIM OLSON, FIFTH RANDY JAWASKI.


THE SUPERSTOCK FEATURE STARTED WITH FIFTEEN CARS,, AFTER SEVERAL CAUTIONS, A RED FLAG WITH TWO SEPERATE PILE-UPS ON THE SAME LAP, SEVEN CARS FINISHED THE RACE... WHEN THE DUST WAS SETTLED, 17 YEAR OLD ALEX ENGELSTAD ELIGHTED HIS FAN CLUB BY STAYING OUT OF TROUBLE AND WITH THREE LAPS TO GO WAS MOVED TO THE FRONT AFTER RACING THIRD WHEN AUSTIN BRODEN AND CORKY THOMAS HOOKED UP IN TURN ONE... ENGELSTAD TOOK ADVANTAGE OF THE POSITION AND HELD OFF GORDY LANCASTER FOR HIS FIRST FEATURE WIN AT THE NORMAN COUNTY RACEWAY THIS SEASON.
RESULTS, HEAT ONE: FIRST BLAKE JETVIG, SECOND AUSTIN BRODEN, THIRD DUSTIN STRAND.
HEAT TWO, FIRST CORKY THOMAS, SECOND NORM OLSON, THIRD STEVE BEACH.

FEATURE RESULTS:; FIRST ALEX ENGELSTAD, SECOND GORDY LANCASTER, THIRD ROD PETERSON, FOURTH KYLE PETERLIN, FIFTH BRIAN LEPIER.

21 MODIFIEDS BROUGHT THEIR BEST STUFF THURSDAY NIGHT WITH THREE HEATS AND A HARD DRIVING, ROUGH FEATURE. BLAKE JETVIG LED UNTIL 5 LAPS IN THE FEATURE WHEN RICK JACOBSON FROM WILTON PASSED THE "JET" ON THE BACK STRAIGHT-AWAY.. JACOBSON WON HIS FIRST FEATURE OF THE SEASON.

RESULTS, HEAT ONE: FIRST BRIAN STRAND, SECOND JAMES TAVES, THIRD JASON BLUE.

HEAT TWO: FIRST NOLAN OLMSTEAD, SECOND BLAKE JETVIG, THIRD PHIL CHRISTLIEB.

HEAT THREE: FIRST DEV MALMLOV, SECOND CHAD OHNSTAD, THIRD JOHN CORELL.

FEATURE RESULTS: FIRST RICK JACOBSON, SECOND BLAKE JETVIG, THIRD JOHN CORELL, FOURTH BRIAN STRAND, FIFTH NOLAN OLMSTEAD.

NEXT WEEK IS THE NORMAN COUNTY FAIR IN ADA AT THE NORMAN COUNTY RACEWAY... WEDNESDAY 6/22 IS THE ENDURO, THURSDAY 6/23 IS THE REGULAR NORMAN COUNTY RACEWAY RACING PROGRAM, FRIDAY 6/24 IS THE DEMOLITION DERBY FOR CARS, PICKUPS AND COMPACTS. SATURDAY 6/25 IS THE N.O.S.A. OUTLAW SPRINTS AND THE NOPA SUPER TRUCKS ,, PLUS, WISSOTA MIDWEST MODIFIEDS, MOD FOURS AND NOPA PURESTOCKS.
ALL RACING PROGRAMS BEGIN AT 7PM. THE NORMAN COUNTY FAIR WILL ALSO FEATURE A MIDWAY OF CARNIVAL RIDES AND GAMES, THE 4-H EXHIBITS, FOOD STAND,,, FREE STAGE SHOWS AND KAROAKE IN THE BEER GARDEN ALL FOUR NIGHTS.
