THE WEATHER COOPERATED AND RACING WAS EVEN MORE ENERGIZED WITH PHOTO FINISHES AND OVER 80 CARS AT THE NORMAN COUNTY RACEWAY IN ADA, MINNESOTA THURSDAY NIGHT. AFTER A RAINOUT WEEK AND MOST AREA TRACKS HAVING TO POSTPONE RACES IN THE LAST WEEK,,, FANS WERE ENJOYING THE WEATHER AND THE DRIVERS ENJOYED A FAST TRACK!

FIFTEEN MOD FOURS TURNED OUT,, MIKE GRESETH TOOK THE CHECKERED FLAG IN HEAT ONE LEADING THE ENTIRE RACE, ERIC MONSON FINISHED SECOND AND JUSTIN BJORKLUND WAS THIRD.
IN THE SECOND HEAT OF THE MOD FOUR'S, MATT GRESETH OVER TOOK DUSTY PETERSON FOR THE CHECKERED FLAG.

WISSOTA STREETS REPLACED THE NOPA STREETS AT THE NORMAN COUNTY RACEWAY , IN THE HEAT RACE, SCOTT HORN STARTED IN THE FRONT OUTSIDE GETTING TO THE CORNER FIRST AND NEVER LOOKED BACK WINNING THE HEAT. JOE POTTER WHO ALSO STARTED UPFRONT WAS SECOND AND JON YOUNG WAS THIRD.

THERE WERE 15 MIDWEST MODS, A TREND CONTINUED IN THE HEAT RACES AS JAKE BITKER OF HALSTAD STARTED UPFRONT AND STAYED THERE,, BITKER HELD OFF THE HARD CHARGE OF TRAVIS SAUER AND JUSTIN JONES. IT WAS BITKERS FIRST HEAT WIN OF THE SEASON.
IN HEAT TWO, SHANE SABRASKI TOOK THE LEAD ON LAP 6 AND THEN HELD OFF DANIEL NESS. ARVID BRODEN OF FERTILE LED HEAT TWO UNTIL SABRASKI MADE HIS MOVE. DANIEL NESS DROVE HARD IN THE FINAL LAP TO SQUEEZE INTO SECOND.

FIFTEEN PURESTOCKS THRILLED THE FANS IN TWO HEATS, RANDY JAWASKI CAME BACK AFTER A WEEK OFF AND LOOKED LIKE THE JAWASKI OF LAST YEAR... JAWASKI LED THE ENTIRE HEAT AND LATER CAME BACK TO WIN THE FEATURE. BRAD LEE FINISHED SECOND AND CHRIS SMEBY THIRD.

IN THE SECOND HEAT OF PURESTOCKS, AGAIN, DAN BECKMAN TOOK THE LEAD OFF THE GREEN FLAG AND LED THE ENTIRE RACE. WEEK ONE FEATURE WINNER PAUL OLSON FINISHED SECOND AND KEN CRANE WAS THIRD.

SIXTEEN SUPERSTOCKS GOT THE FANS EXCITED WITH THE HEAT ONE AUSTIN BRODEN VICTORY. BRODEN WAS CHASING JASON SANDERESON THROUGHOUT THE HEAT AND ON THE FINAL LAP, BRODEN WAS ABLE TO GO AROUND SANDERSON AND TAKE THE CHECKERED FLAG. BRENT PULSKAMP FINISHED THIRD.
IN HEAT TWO, RYAN AHO STARTED STRONG AND LED THE HEAT TO TAKE THE HEAT VICTORY, KYLE PETERLIN WAS SECOND AND TODD CARTER THIRD.

TWELVE MODIFIEDS DROVE FAST AND HARD,,, IN HEAT ONE, BLAKE JETVIG WHO WON THE FEATURE ON OPENING NIGHT CAME OUT TO STRUT HIS MUSCLE IN WINNING THE HEAT HOLDING OFF THE STRONG "Z28" OF MARK TRAUTNER. JAMES TAVES FINISHED THIRD.
IN HEAT TWO, CHAD OHNSTAD DROVE TO VICTORY FOLLOWED BY JASON MILLER AND STEVE ARPIN.
MILLER DROVE TO THE NORMAN COUNTY RACEWAY FROM WISCONSIN AND ARPIN FROM EMO, ONTARIO.

THE EIGHTY CARS IS A SEASON HIGH AFTER TWO WEEKS OF RACING. THE RACING WAS GOOD IN THE HEATS AND IT GOT BETTER IN THE FEATURES.
MIKE GRESETH CONTINUES TO ENJOY THE NORMAN COUNTY RACEWAY, AFTER A HEAT WIN EARLIER IN THE NIGHT, GRESETH WON HIS SECOND FEATURE RACE THIS SEASON LEADING FROM THE START. EVEN AFTER A CAUTION , THE CHASE WAS ON AS GRESETH STAYED OUT FRONT HOLDING OFF BILL LEAHY AND MATT GRESETH.

THE WISSOTA STREETS FEATURE RACE HAD FOUR LEAD CHANGES, CARS THREE WIDE AND WHEN IT WAS ALL DONE, LUKE NELSON DROVE THE 19N TO THE NORMAN COUNTY RACEWAY FEATURE WINNER CIRCLE. NELSON HELD OFF THE CHARGE OF JON YOUNG AND KELLY SECKERSON.

THE MIDWEST MODS FEATURE RACE WAS LED BY ARVID BRODEN FOR ALL BUT ONE LAP,,, THE FINAL ONE!!! AFTER WINNING THE HEAT AND OVERCOMING DANIEL NESS AND ARVID BRODEN, SHANE SABRASKI DARTED INTO THE BOTTOM SIDE OF TURN THREE TO GET THE NOSE ON ARVID BRODEN TO TAKE THE LEAD AT THE START FINISH LINE AS THE WHITE FLAG WAVED AND THEN HELD OFF BRODEN TO TAKE THE CHECKERED FLAG. NESS FINISHED THIRD.


BRAD LEE LED FIVE LAPS OF THE PURESTOCK FEATURE, KEN CRANE LED ONE LAP, DEAN LUNDON LED ONE LAP AND WHEN THE FINAL CHECKERED FLAG WAVED,, IT WENT TO RANDY JAWASKI. ALL FOUR RACERS BATTLED FOR THE TOP SPOT BEFORE JAWASKI TOOK THE LEAD FOR GOOD WITH THREE LAPS REMAINING AND WON HIS FIRST FEATURE RACE THIS YEAR. KEN CRANE FINISHED SECOND AS THEY WERE SINGLE FILE BUMPER TO BUMPER ACROSS THE FINISH LINE. BRAD LEE FINISHED THIRD.

IN THE SUPERSTOCKS FEATURE, DUSTIN STRAND, DOYLE ERICKSON, ARVID BRODEN AND ALEX ENGELSTAD OCCUPED THE FIRST TWO ROWS AND THOSE FOUR BATTLED THROUGHOUT THE RACE. ERICKSON LED 14 OF THE 15 LAPS, ENGELSTAD TOOK THE LEAD ON LAP 13 AFTER MOVING UP FROM FOURTH PLACE AND THEN ON THE FINAL LAP, ERICKSON MADE HIS MOVE TO FINISH JUST AHEAD OF ENGELSTAD TO WIN HIS FIRST FEATURE THIS YEAR. DUSTIN STRAND CAME IN THIRD.

IN THE MODFIEDS FEATURE, MARK TRAUTNER STARTED IN ROW TWO AND AFTER JUST MISSING A WIN IN THE HEATS,, TRAUTNER OF MAHNOMEN, MN DROVE THE "Z28" OUT TO THE FRONT OF THE PACK HOLDING OFF CHALLENGES FROM STEVE ARPIN, JASON MILLER AND BLAKE JETVIG THROUGH 10 LAPS. AFTER 11 LAPS AND A YELLOW CAUTION FLAG, TRAUTNER AND MILLER WERE RUNNING FIRST AND SECOND WITH JETVIG (WEEK ONE WINNER) MOVING UP FROM THE MIDDLE OF THE GROUP TO PUSH THE TOP TWO CARS. JASON MILLER WAS RUNNING SECOND ON THE FINAL LAP,, FROM THE BACK STRETCH INTO TURN THREE MILLER DROVE TO THE BOTTOM ND WITH THE "12M" CAR NOSE TO NOSE AND SIDE TO SIDE SLIDING THROUGH THE FOURTH TURN,, THE TWO CARS WERE EVEN BEFORE MILLER CROSSED THE LINE WINNING BY THE NOSE OF THE CAR IN A PHOTO FINISH !!!!

IT WAS AN EXCELLENT NIGHT OF RACING TALKING TO FANS AND NORMAN COUNTY RACEWAYT GENERAL MANAGER PAUL ENGELSTAD. THE RACE TRACK WAS GREAT TOO ACCORDING TO THE DRIVERS WHO CAME FROM THE ENTIRE REGION,. ALL IN ALL,,, A SUPER NIGHT!!!
